Dr. Cristiano Luchetti holds a bachelor’s degree in architecture from the Università degli Studi "G. d'Annunzio" Chieti-Pescara, a master’s in architecture from Penn State University, and a Ph.D. in Architecture and Urban Design from the Università Politecnica delle Marche. With over 25 years of experience across professional practice and academia, he is a seasoned architect, researcher, and educator.
Following a professional tenure in Hong Kong, he has been active in the UAE since 2012, teaching and researching architectural and urban design at leading academic institutions. Cristiano previously served as Creative Director at Binghatti Group, where he led the design direction of large-scale residential and cultural projects in Dubai.
Currently, he is Head of Urban Design at Dorsch Gruppe in Abu Dhabi. Cristiano also serves as Associate Editor for the Middle East at Compasses Architecture & Design, contributing regular commentary on architecture and urbanism in the Arabian Gulf region.
His curatorial and scholarly work includes co-curating the Egyptian Pavilion at the 2018 Venice Architecture Biennale and co-authoring the book Desert:Space – Architecture for Emptiness (2021). He is frequently invited to serve as a juror for major international design competitions and awards.
