My participation in the panel 'The 15-Minute City: Making Cities Accessible' at PropTech 2026 provided a valuable opportunity to discuss a crucial theme in contemporary urban development. Despite extensive research on the subject, practical implementations in the region remain scarce and often lack significant impact. The insights shared during the debate were instrumental in crystallizing the core research questions and defining potential future scenarios
I am grateful for another opportunity to participate in the ongoing debate regarding regional architecture and urban development. I look forward to contributing to the discussion from the critical perspective of sustainable construction within the built environment. Thank you to Woodshow 2026 for the kind invitation.
I am very pleased to see that construction on Binghatti Haven, for which I designed the tower and podium facades, is progressing rapidly. I look forward to seeing the final result.
Thank you to the Smart Building Summit for the invitation to discuss how we can build flexible, resilient, and future-ready urban environments. In the short time available, we were able to define a critical analysis of current conditions—especially regarding regional urban environments—and make concrete proposals for intervention.
I am very happy to see the progress on the construction of the mosque, which I led the design of, under the direction of the chairman, during my time at Binghatti. I look forward to visiting the building very soon.
What does it take to make a city truly "future-ready"? It is not just about technology; it is about resilience and flexibility in the face of rapid change. On Wednesday, 14 January 2026, I will be diving into this topic at the Smart Building Summit in Dubai. My talk, "How Can We Build Resilient, Flexible, and Future-Ready Urban Environments?", will focus on the intersection of urban design and long-term adaptability.
It was a genuine privilege to serve as the moderator for the panel: 'Industry Perspectives: Designing for Impact – Architecture in a Rapidly Changing World.' @ Big 5 Dubai. Guiding this conversation was a highlight for me. We dove deep into how architects can move beyond aesthetics to create genuine resilience and social value in our rapidly evolving urban landscapes. A huge thank you to the organizers at The Big 5 Global for the invitation, and to my fellow panelists.
The final evening of the Middle East Landscape Award marks the conclusion of my role as a juror for this year's edition. The evident increase in the quality of design proposals highlights the success of this event and confirms the growth of the discipline within the Arabian Gulf's built environment.
I was particularly pleased to note the significant improvement in student submissions. Seeing such progress in a category that has historically struggled is excellent news for the future of our profession, with Lebanese universities clearly leading the way in terms of quality.
I would like to thank the organizers for their kind invitation and for the privilege of joining them to honor Steven Velegrinis with the Lifetime Achievement Award. See you next year!
Today will be an intense day spent at the Landscape Middle East Award conference. The most prominent event in the region features interesting panels and discussions on the status and the future of landscape and urban design in the Middle East. As every year, I am proud to contribute to the event's success.
It was a pleasure to be part of the Gensler Design Forecast Live 2025 at the Nikki Beach Hotel. I am particularly grateful to Steven Velegrinis for the invitation and my fellow panelists, Dr. Louise Lambert, Ismail Al Naqi, and Hrvoje Cindrić, for their contributions to an insightful discussion on the future of Experience-Driven Districts in the region. I look forward to attending the 2026 edition.
I’m honored to be invited to moderate a panel at the upcoming edition of Everything Architecture Talks, part of The Big 5 Global this November in Dubai. The panel will focus on the theme: 'Industry Perspectives: Designing for Impact – Architecture in a Rapidly Changing World.
The 15th edition of the Gulf Research Meeting has just come to a close, offering an exceptional platform for dialogue and exchange. Together with Steven Velegrinis, I had the privilege of presenting our research exploring the anticipated transformations of Dubai’s urban morphology in response to the exponential rise in traffic flows. Over two intensive days of workshop sessions, we engaged in stimulating discussions with fellow scholars and practitioners, delving into strategies for mitigating pollution and reducing environmental impact across the Arabian Gulf region.
My new role as Head of Urban Design at Dorsch in Abu Dhabi has left me with little time to update this section of the website. However, I’d like to highlight two key upcoming engagements this summer:
On July 9th, I will join the Landscape Middle East Award webinar as an invited panelist. I’ve also been appointed as a juror for the upcoming 2025 edition of the award, which will take place in Abu Dhabi this fall.
Later in the month, on July 22nd, I will travel to Cambridge to participate once again in the Gulf Research Meeting. Together with Steven Velegrinis, I will present our co-authored paper, "Trapped in Gridlock: Dubai’s Struggle with Traffic and the Future of Urban Life". Our talk offers a critical perspective on Dubai’s urban future in light of its recent infrastructural challenges.
Thrilled to join an incredible panel of visionaries, including Hans Ulrich Obrist, Aaron Betsky, Alison Brooks, Ben van Berkel, Bjarke Ingels, Francine Houben, Jeanne Gang, Lesley Lokko, and many more, in celebrating the best in architecture and design. The A+Awards shine a light on projects that redefine our built environment—pushing boundaries, fostering innovation, and shaping a more inclusive and sustainable future.
Thanks to Simone Micheli for the invitation to present my research at this edition of "We Meet on Air." I look forward to listening to other participants' contributions and sharing creative ideas on residential architecture.
Thanks to Prof. Covarino for the kind invitation to take part in the mid reviews of her course. I look forward to see the final product of the studio.
Many thanks to the Architecture Foundation Turkey (MIV) for the invitation to serve as a keynote speaker at the 2nd International Conference on Reevaluating Contemporary Designs in Historical Context. I appreciate the organizers’ efforts and look forward to being in Istanbul again soon.
In spring 2025, I teach History and Criticism of Contemporary Design in the Master in Interior Design program at the prestigious Istituto Marangoni in Dubai. This will be an opportunity to expand my knowledge and criticism of contemporary theoretical movements of the last century, adding a more specific design component to the content of my lectures.
One of the projects I led during my collaboration with BINGHATTI Developers has officially launched and is now under construction. I look forward to visiting it once it is completed. Given the company's efficiency and rapid execution, I'm confident that day will come soon.
